Do you understand the 8 advantages of polymer lithium battery?
With the development of social science and technology and people's higher demand for lightweight and convenience of all kinds of digital electrical products, digital products also began to develop in the direction of lightness and thinness; The capacity, volume, weight and electrochemical performance of the battery in the product also put forward higher requirements. The traditional liquid lithium battery can not meet the new needs. The emergence of polymer lithium ion battery (Li poly) just caters to this demand.

Polymer battery is the third generation of lithium-ion battery developed on the basis of the original steel shell and aluminum shell battery. It is favored by lithium battery manufacturers and lithium battery product manufacturers because of its lighter, thinner and higher energy density. The fundamental difference between polymer lithium-ion batteries and liquid lithium-ion batteries lies in the different electrolytes used.

The electrolyte of polymer lithium battery is solid in appearance, which is called polymer solid electrolyte. This kind of electrolyte is a kind of polymer material in solid state, but it can dissolve and support electrolyte like liquid, and ion migration can occur

8 advantages of polymer lithium battery

1. Good safety performance
Polymer lithium battery adopts aluminum-plastic flexible packaging in structure, which is different from the metal shell of liquid cell. In case of potential safety hazards, the liquid cell is easy to explode, while the polymer cell will only inflate at most.

2. Thin thickness
Ordinary liquid lithium batteries adopt the method of customizing the shell first, and then plugging the positive and negative electrodes. If the thickness is less than 3.6mm, there will be a technical bottleneck, while polymer batteries do not have this problem. The thickness can be less than 1mm, which is in line with the current demand direction of digital products.

3. Light weight
The weight of polymer battery is 40% lighter than that of steel shell lithium battery with the same capacity specification and 20% lighter than that of aluminum shell battery.

4. Large capacity
The capacity of polymer battery is 10 ~ 15% higher than that of steel shell battery with the same size and specification, and 5 ~ 10% higher than that of aluminum shell battery. It has become the first choice of convenient digital products.

5. Small internal resistance
The internal resistance of polymer battery is smaller than that of general liquid battery. At present, the internal resistance of domestic polymer battery can even be less than 35m Ω, which greatly reduces the self power consumption of battery and prolongs the standby time of mobile phone, which can fully reach the level in line with international standards.

6. Shape customizable
Polymer batteries can increase or reduce the cell thickness according to the needs of customers, and develop new cell models with low price and short mold opening cycle. Some can even be customized according to the shape of lithium battery products, so as to make full use of the battery shell space and improve the battery capacity.

7. Good discharge characteristics
Polymer battery adopts colloidal electrolyte. Compared with liquid electrolyte, colloidal electrolyte has stable discharge characteristics and higher discharge platform.

8. The protection board is simple in design
Due to the use of polymer materials, the cell does not fire and explode, and the cell itself has sufficient safety. Therefore, PTC and fuse can be omitted in the protection circuit design of polymer battery, so as to save the battery cost.
